So…here I am , sitting outside in a little table at my hostel that is the “home away from home” or so their slogan is which I now really believe. I had a cup of coffee and breakfast delivered to me as I watch the clouds roll by covering the super powerful sun and teasing me with their impending look of rain. There’s a little grove of trees right in the driveway of this house that provides just the right amount of shade as the wind is blowing gently through them. Ah, this is the life. As you can all tell, I’m thoroughly enjoying my time here, especially since this is my last day of ‘vacation’ as my school starts Wednesday and tomorrow I venture off to my homestay. So far no injuries to report, although I nearly sprained my ankle by stepping into a huge pothole in the sidewalk (which are rather plentiful around here-they need more engineers around here to do something about that). The ironic thing I heard this morning is that my brother, who was up hunting in the Superstition Mountains, just sprained his ankle yesterday so he had to come home. Guess it runs in the family…hehe, although I’d rather not like to repeat that experience…..

Funny side note: All the webpages are now in Spanish hehe. I opened the blog page and had to translate all the right buttons to ‘sign in.’ Guess it’s those little things that will keep life interesting…

Coffee, trees and potholes....

I'm off!!!

Well, here's to the next chapter in my life....I've left my beloved friends in Tucson (I will miss you all dearly), my family in Phoenix (will miss you even more), the hot, dry desert sun in exchange for the refreshing...tropics? Bring on the humidity, monkies, and mosquito bites. I am so eager to experience life here for a while and hope to keep this blog updated more than I have recently, as I know it's been rather neglected. Love to you all.....and to you all who read this (all 2 of you, probably), please know how much I care about everyone, have been so blessed by all of you and will miss you all dearly.....the Lord is faithful though and we will just find new means of connecting in the future!!

p.s. oh, and my first miracle of the trip is that my one big piece of luggage, after much fretting and worrying my home scale was innacurate and I'd have to embarrassingly have to rearrange all my clothes in the baggage check area, came out to be exactly 50 lbs...which means no extra fees, no rearranging all my belongings. the bad part: how in the world am I able to bring anything home from costa rica now? there is absolutly no room for the ton of coffee I'd love to bring with me.....
